New app jumps queue and orders airport food for you
Airports and queues go like a hand in a glove, but AirGrub has come up with a new app to help you avoid those long delays by having your food ready as soon as you arrive.
The new app gives users the opportunity to order a meal in advance – thus allowing them to relax as they make their way through security checks, happy in the knowledge that their table has already been reserved.
The free app requires that you to enter your flight information and once you make your selection about where you want to eat, you pay the restaurant.
By being able to browse through menus and select the food you want, you can arrive knowing the food will be waiting for you without having to wait for the food to be cooked.
Surya Padditi, the co-founder and CEO of Airgrub, said the idea came after he felt people shouldn’t arrive at an airport before deciding where they should eat.
He told MailOnline that his system was like booking a hotel, the order could be registered weeks in advance or just as you are about to go through security.
The beauty about the system with the app is that even if there are delays in flights, customers can either pass on the information or cancel the meal. If they do that they can get a refund.
So far San Francisco airport has signed up in the US but others are considering it and the app hopes to go global.
