Up to 20,000 Nepalis are expected to take part in a five-day national yoga festival at the Tundikhel parade ground in the capital Kathmandu. The festival was inaugurated by the Nepali prime minister on Friday, with proceedings directed by the Indian yoga guru Ramdev, leader of the Patanjali organisation. Ramdev has caused controversy in some western nations with his views on sexuality and morality, but is one of India’s most popular yoga gurus, with an estimated 30 million followers. Read more:
