Munich memorial to Jacko under threat as turf war goes bad
A memorial in Munich to pop legend Michael Jackson has become the scene of an ugly dispute as rival fan groups squabble over who should look after it.
The memorial was created in 2009 opposite the Bayerischer Hof Hotel, where Jackson regularly stayed when visiting Germany. But recently ardent fans have become increasingly hysterical about how the memorial should be kept, with violence breaking out between opposing groups. City officials stated that they have tolerated the shrine until now but that "if peaceful coexistence between the different groups of fans behind the Michael Jackson memorial is not possible, the memorial will unfortunately have to disappear".
