Mule pack rescues stranded hikers in Hawaii

Last week a pack of mules saved a pair of hikers who had become stranded in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park.

The hikers had set out on a trek on Keauhou Trail, hoping to arrive at a remote campsite location, but they were not prepared for the heat and rough terrain of the trail. After injuring their ankles and losing their packed water, the hikers notified the National Park Service, which dispatched a team of mules and rescuers. The first responders found the stranded couple and transported them to safety. Read more: westhawaiitoday.com
