Moscow metro trials toilet facilities after years of passenger requests

After years of commuter requests, the first ever public toilet has been installed in Moscow’s underground system, but only at one station.

It is located at Prospekt Mira, which is about 3km north of Red Square. The new toilet is located on the platform, it’s environmentally friendly and commuters can access it using their travel cards. The Prospekt Mira cubicle is intended as a trial, after which authorities will decide whether to install toilets at other stations. The Moscow metro has 196 stations and serves about seven million people daily. Read more: bbc.co.uk
