The scheme was introduced in April 2015 for a trial period, and will end on 31 December 2015. Starting in 2016, nationals from most countries will require a visa to enter Mongolia, including the UK and members of the European Union, Norway, Argentina, China and Chile. US citizens may still enter Mongolia visa-free for 90 days, while Japanese, Canadian and German passport-holders may enter visa-free for 30 days.
