Mobile phone network to be turned off in Karachi

The mobile phone network in Karac will be turned off on Saturday by government decree. Officials claim the move is necessary to reduce the risk of crowd violence following a new public rally by opposition politician Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. Thousands of buses have been drafted in to carry Zardari supporters and officials are predicting that public transport in the city will come to a standstill on Saturday. Read more: dawn.com
