Military theme park opens in Russia

A huge military theme park, called Patriot Park, was officially opened by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin at Kubinka, near Moscow, on 17 June. Already dubbed a ‘military Disneyland’, the complex includes a conference and exhibition venue, while hotels and entertainment venues are also being built. There will be battle reconstructions of famous Russian war victories, and visitors will have the opportunity to shoot guns, ride tanks and try extreme sports. The park is due to be completed by 2017 when it should have capacity to host tens of thousands of visitors daily. Read more:
