MGM Resorts International has announced its plan to build a $100 million 5300-seat theater at its Monte Carlo Hotel & Casino on the Strip in Las Vegas.
MGM hopes the new venue will attract big-name musicians for shows that will run weeks at a time. The company is also likely to rename the Monte Carlo. MGM owns several properties in Las Vegas that hold sporting events and concerts, but the president of the company recently said those venues are either too small or too large to attract longer contracts from top performers.
