Meteor lights the skies in southern Germany

The skies over Bavaria, Baden Württemburg and Saarland in southern Germany lit up for around six seconds on Sunday evening when a meteor entered the earth's atmosphere. Some people reported hearing a loud bang and several concerned residents called emergency services, fearing an air crash. Experts confirmed that to make such a sound, the meteor must have come within 20 kilometres of the earth's surface. There were no reports of injuries or damage caused by the meteor.
