The line-up for San Antonio's Mala Luna Music Festival features Diplo and Megan Thee Stallion
San Antonio’s Mala Luna Music Festival has announced the lineup for the annual Halloween weekend event, and it’s not even a little bit scary.
Now in its fourth year, the festival returns October 26 and 27 with a cutting-edge lineup of hip-hop, R&B, and dance artists, a mix of established stars and quickly rising up-and-comers. Singer-songwriter Miguel headlines on Saturday with Atlanta rapper Russ, while Diplo takes over on Sunday alongside Chicago rapper Juice Wrld.
Breakout star and platinum-certified singer Jessie Reyez features on Sunday, and Houston native Megan Thee Stallion brings her "hot girl summer" energy to the stage on Saturday. West Coast emcee YG, rapper Playboi Carti, and Charlotte-based DaBaby are also set to perform. And new for 2019, organizers have put special emphasis on the XX end of the talent pool, spotlighting women making their mark in the industry. They've also chosen to spotlight members of Texas's burgeoning music scene, including FRITOGANG, Hoodlum, Jay Wile, and Doeman.
Last year, more than 30,000 people attended the fest—for the music, yes, but also for the live art installations, local food and shopping vendors, and costumes and themes honoring the local culture. And because it’s held over Halloween weekend, the festival nods to city and regional Día de Muertos festivities as well.
Tickets are now available for Mala Luna, which happens west of downtown San Antonio at the Nelson Wolff Stadium parking lot. Single-day general admission tickets are $79 apiece, while weekend general admission costs $109. The two-day VIP experience ranges from $159 to $399, with seats including preferred viewing areas, expedited entry, and dedicated bars, restroom facilities, and festival merchandise.
