Luxury Hong Kong - Tahiti ‘air cruise’ will make maiden voyage in September
Crystal Cruises’ Boeing 777, Crystal Skye, will take an inaugural 10-day ‘air cruise’ from 29 September to 8 October 2017. The move serves the vast luxury travel market in China and provides ‘distinct luxury’, catering to elite, wealthy tourists. The 'air cruise' begins in Hong Kong and 86 passengers can expect to be waited on by butlers and will be served Michelin-star quality meals, aboard the aircraft which can accommodate 450 people.
The experience will set them back a cool £34,500 each, affording the travellers indulgences such as a stay in the Villa Rosa Kempinski in Nairobi and a safari in the Masai Mara national reserve before flying on to Tahiti.
“We are delighted to deploy Crystal Skye to the Asia Pacific region for the first inaugural AirCruise,” said Crystal CEO and President Edie Rodriguez in a statement. “Crystal Skye presents incomparable luxury travel options for guests and groups who wish to explore global destinations, events and culinary delights in multiple places, flying non-stop up to 19 hours between destinations in our exclusively appointed Boeing 777.”
The cruise takes place during China’s ‘golden week’ – a seven-day holiday period in October. The company says it's an opportune time to launch the cruise, particularly for three-generation families, as they often travel together during the long holiday period.
