Many countries across Asia today celebrated Lunar New Year, a date that changes from year to year according to the lunar calendar. In many places, the new year is a time to visit a temple or to spend time with family. Celebrations were held in many cities, with traditional dragon dances and acrobatics performances held in Hong Kong and Beijing. According to Chinese astrology, 2015 is the year of the sheep, ram or goat - the term ‘yang’ in Chinese has several meanings, which in recent weeks has sparked online debate about which term to use in English.
