Rainy day activity: transform into a tiger!

This month at Lonely Planet Kids, we've been getting messy with face painting! Ever wanted to try out the art for yourself? Follow our tiger-ific step-by-step guide to face painting below, or download and print out the activity sheet.

You will need:

  • A sponge
  • A paintbrush
  • Yellow, orange, white and black face paint
  • A bowl of water

STEP ONE

Using your sponge in a dabbing and sweeping motion, paint the whole face yellow.

STEP TWO

Paint around the edge of the face down to the cheeks with the sponge using orange paint.

STEP THREE

Dab patches of white paint around the eyebrows and upper lip.

STEP FOUR

Using your paintbrush and black paint, draw some swirling tiger stripes on the forehead and cheeks.

STEP FIVE

Paint the nose black around the nostrils.

STEP SIX

Draw a line from the nose down to the centre of your lips. Then paint lines curving upwards from the outside of the lips.

STEP SEVEN

Add eyebrows and then some dots on the upper lip and paint the lips in black.

STEP EIGHT

Add strokes to the chin. You’re now ready to face the world as a tiger. Roar!
