Rainy day activity: Egyptian mummy pencil case
Inspired by our new book Unfolding Journeys: Secrets of the Nile/Wonders of Egypt, we've decided to get colourful and make our own Egyptian mummy pencil case! We've got the templates sorted, so it's down to you to pick your colours! Follow the simple step-by-step guide below. Don’t forget to ask for an adult’s help when using the scissors.
You will need:
- A4 white paper
- A printer
- Colouring pencils or felt-tip pens
Gather your equipment!
Using your colouring pencils or felt-tip pens, colour in the shapes and patterns on both of the templates. Use as many colours as possible to make your pencil case really stand out!
Ask an adult to help you use the scissors and cut out both templates.
Turn over both the lid and the base and fold along the dotted lines of each template, pressing down to secure the creases.
Glue along each fold on both sets of templates.
Put pens, pencils and any other stationery into the base, cover with the lid and you’re ready to use your pencil case!
