However it's not just the traditional porridge dish your granny used to make, this new pop-up café is offering early diners an array of different porridge dishes.

On this breakfast menu are oats, quinoa and savoury based meals which are made with risotto and beetroot. Porridge Café also has several ranges of milk to accompany the 11 different types of porridge grain.

The café’s owner Nik Williamson got the idea of a total porridge café from the enthusiastic Nordic revival of the dish. The Evening Standard reports that he was intent on bringing a healthier option to Londoner’s tables. Mr Williamson hopes the café becomes such a success that it will become a permanent fixture.

Last year, the first cereal café, Cereal Killer Café, opened up in Shoreditch and the Porridge café plans to run until the end of March in Paul Street, Shoreditch.
