Southern Italy calling all extras for Ben Hur remake

Residents of the southern Italian town of Matera have been queueing in their thousands this week, hoping to be cast as extras in the upcoming remake of Ben Hur. The town, which is known for its ancient sassi cave dwellings, will stand in for Jerusalem in the Hollywood blockbuster, which will star Morgan Freeman and Jack Huston and is due to begin filming in February. The producers are looking for 1000 extras to play Roman soldiers, as well as child actors. Read more:
