Local breweries boom in Finger Lakes region
The Finger Lakes region is experiencing an explosion of craft breweries, up from 24 in 2011 to 70 in 2015, with an additional 12 breweries scheduled to open this year.
These breweries benefit from having a range of local ingredients to use, from barley and hops to water, and are also supported by the New York Farm Brewery Law, which gives tax breaks and incentives to craft breweries that use in-state ingredients.
