Legal challenge in Sweden stalls planned wolf cull

Conservationists have successfully halted a cull on the wolf population in Dalarna, central Sweden, which was due to begin on the ninth of January. The decision to cull eight wolves in the area was overturned after the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation, the Swedish Carnivore Association and the WWF mounted a joint legal appeal. However, although the appeal has stalled the cull, a final decision on whether it will proceed at a later date will be made after the twelfth of January. Read more:
