Laser beam bid to expel geese from Amsterdam airport

Experiments have been taking place to drive geese off the runways at Schiphol airport in Amsterdam  with the more humane method of using green laser beams. The geese pose a dangerous risk with 7 out of 10,000 flights taking off and landing hitting a bird, and the laser beams have proved successful so far and are said to startle the birds into flying off. However the safety to pilots needs to be assessed as the beams can temporarily blind them, which of course may lead to dangerous situations. Read more:
