This gorgeous pink daybed is the ultimate relaxation stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel
If you love design, relaxation and an amazing Instagram post, then a new art installation on display at the Beverly Hills Hotel in California is the place to be this month.
La Refuge – an artwork that was dubbed the most Instagrammed piece at Milan Design Week – is now on display at the hotel until 23 August. The large pink daybed is designed by Parisian artist and designer Marc Ange – and just one glimpse will have people dreaming of relaxing on the bed in the shade of the pink fronds.
Now, the beautiful pink refuge is on display at the also famously pink Beverly Hills Hotel. Originally white, the hotel was painted a distinctive pink colour back in 1948 to complement the California sunsets and country club style of the era. The hotel is often referred to as the “Pink Palace” and the addition of the flamingo-coloured daybed adds to the retro glamour of the prominent hotel.
“It is the projection of a childhood memory. Its large leaves form a shelter under the sun, away from reality, just like those of the imaginary jungle that grows in the room of a child who seeks escape,” said Ange in a statement. “With its iconic pink facade, legendary history and magical setting, The Beverly Hills Hotel provides the perfect environment to showcase Le Refuge.”
The exhibit is open to guests and visitors and can be found in the hotel’s citrus garden, which leads to the pool. Visitors can ask the concierge for more information and directions. After its display at the hotel, La Refuge will go on display at the Leclaireur gallery at 450 N Robertson Boulevard.
