Paris' hippest district is now home to Europe's largest restaurant
An incredible new restaurant has opened in Paris but, for once, avid foodies won't have to wait months to try it out. At 4500 square metres, La Felicità claims to be the biggest restaurant in Europe so there should be plenty of space for everyone.
Inside the beautiful space, there are five kitchens, a beer garden, one large cocktail bar, a food market and an enormous terrace with full exposure to the sun during the day.
The menu has a strong emphasis on Italian cuisine. Fresh bread and pasta are made on-site, there's a huge wood oven for pizza and an authentic caffeteria. There is even a cart wandering around with homemade ice-cream made fresh every morning. For something a little different, there's a USA-inspired burger shack.
As well as food, there is a full programme of events throughout the year, including musical brunch at the weekends, outdoor festivals, kids activities, live music and even World Cup match screenings during the summer.
La Felicità celebrated its opening this weekend with a crowd-pleasing mix of children’s cartoons and live DJs and there will be a series of live concerts throughout the year on their ‘musical terrace’ which seats 500 people.
Fittingly, the restaurant is making its home in Paris’ 13th arrondissement. Previously known as an industrial hub, it has made a name in recent years as being a centre for creativity and innovation, largely free of the iconic landmarks that draw the masses of tourism. It’s beginning to attract more and more visitors however, drawn by the incredible street art, bustling Chinatown and new attractions such as these.
La Felicità is open seven days a week.
