Plans have been announced to build a second airport on the resort island of Jeju-do in South Korea. Located off the southwest coast of Korea, the island has gained popularity as a holiday destination in recent years owing to its mild climate and outdoor activities.
Currently, Jeju-do is served by Jeju International Airport in the island’s capital city, Jeju-si. Anticipating continued growth in tourism, the government has approved plans to build a new single-runway airport on the south side of the island near Seogwipo, to be operational by 2025.
