A martial arts promoter in Russia, M-1 Global, is hoping that armoured knight fights will become the next big sport in this country. It has launched a new division called M-1 Medieval, with the inaugural fight held on the first of  April in Moscow. The sword fighting takes place in an octagon ring, and the fighters wear medieval-type armour. The swords are blunt and some blows and holds are not permitted. The first fight had three rounds of three minutes each. Read more:
