King Kamehameha statue defaced in Hawaii

A bronze statue of King Kamehameha in Hilo, Hawaii, has been damaged by vandals, according to officials on the Big Island.

The head of the King’s spear is gone, and a nearby sign was defaced. Police are looking into who is responsible. King Kamehameha formally united the Islands into the Kingdom of Hawai‘i in 1810. The statue in Hilo is one of four on the Big Island and was placed in 1997. Read more: kitv.com
