Kenya reinstates ban on Tanzania-registered tourism vehicles

Following Tanzania’s postponement of talks with Kenya regarding the cross-border travel of tourism vehicles, the Kenyan government has reinstated the ban on all Tanzania-registered vehicles from accessing its airports, airstrips, national parks and reserves. Given that forty percent of Tanzania’s one million visitors are estimated to pass through Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, the move will have serious repercussions. The Kenyan government has said that in the spirit of East Africa integration, they will continue to allow Tanzanian vehicles to drop or exchange tourists in Kenyan towns. Read more:
