Kazakhstan railway seeks to create a hotel on wheels for tourists
A railway company in Kazakhstan is seeking to create a new tourist train line that it says would be a ‘hotel on wheels’.
The Turan Express rail company has applied for subsidies from the Kazakh government to build the line, which would take in a number of the country’s most popular tourist destinations. Turan Express initially said the route being considered was Khorgos – Almaty – Taraz – Shymkent – Turkestan – Kyzylorda – Baikonur – Astana. If approved, the company said it believes the line would benefit foreign visitors as well as domestic tourists, including families and students. Read more: astanatimes.com
