Kashmir valley: floods ravage historic treasures

The devastating floods which hit the Kashmir valley in September wreaked a terrible human cost, but also ravaged the valley’s historical treasures. Ancient shrines, historic colonial houses, museums and UNESCO world-heritage listed papier-mâché mosques were all affected by the floodwaters. At least 150 buildings were damaged by the disaster, and some buildings were almost completely destroyed. Read more: bbc.co.uk
