The dead squirrel photobomb on ITV

This is the moment when a dead squirrel photobombed a live ITV news broadcast.

As reporter Romilly Weeks discussed the long-awaited Chilcot inquiry into the Iraq War outside of Parliament in London, the last thing she would have expected was to have her television audience’s interest interrupted by a scene unfolding behind her back.

Viewers could see a man walking past in the background holding aloft a dead squirrel, the London Independent reports. While the man didn’t make any comment as to why he did it, yesterday’s date –  21 January – was Squirrel Appreciation Day.
