Italians can hold their heads high once again, as pizza chefs in the Calabrian town of Rende have restored their nation’s pride and reclaimed the world record for the longest pizza, which had been held by the Spanish town of Tomellaso since 2011. The 1.229-km-long pizza took 16 hours to create, using a special oven with a roller inside that allowed the pizza to be gradually pulled through for an even bake. Around 60,000 people came to watch the pizza snake through the streets of the town, and no doubt also to help eat it! Read more: thelocal.it
