Israel cafe offers 50% off to Jews and Arabs who eat together

A hummus cafe in Kfar Vitkin, central Israel, is offering to half the bills of any Jewish and Arab customers who will eat together.

The manager says he made the offer to show ‘we’re all human beings’ after a month of escalating violence in some parts of Israel and the Palestinian Territories. He added: "If there's anything that can bring together these people, it's hummus." The offer has reportedly been very well received so far, with some customers eating at mixed tables but turning down the discount to support the initiative. Read more: aljazeera.com
