Iranian holiday plans? Airbnb-style site launched

Lonely Planet WriterA Swiss company has opened an accommodation-letting service for travellers in Iran. Orientstay currently lists 200 places to stay in nine cities, including Esfahan and Tehran.

Prices range from €20-€300 a night. The site takes a range of payment methods, a major advantage in a country where hotels cannot accept foreign bank cards due to economic sanctions. Since the recent nuclear deal, Iran has experienced a surge of interest from tourists, but there is thought to be a shortage of hotel rooms across the country. Read more: theguardian.com
