In Pictures: inside the world’s first fully customised luxury Boeing 787 business jet
The world’s first fully customised Boeing 787 business jet has been completed, with the large and luxuriously furnished aircraft catering for 40 passengers on long-haul flights.
The design features a range of private spaces on board the massive 2400 sq ft aircraft, with materials and colours aimed at offering a relaxing experience to passengers. It has the ability to fly over 17 hours nonstop and has 40 seats, with 28 flat sleeping facilities available. It has a lobby rotunda with dome ceiling, hardwood flooring, sculptured hardwood doors and metal furnishings.
The master suite has a California King Bed with a floor-to-ceiling headboard, a hidden 42” TV monitor as well as a separate bathroom with an oversized shower. The bathroom also features a hand rubbed marble vanity unit with a double sink.
The aircraft also has a large, separate dressing room, a refreshment centre with fridge freezer and an open plan lounge that is configured for 16 passengers and is designed for meetings and entertaining guests. It also has tablet-controlled technology throughout, with Wi-Fi hotspots and broadband data transfer capabilities.
The project was completed by Kestrel Aviation Management, a consulting company that specialises in the management of corporate and commercial aircraft. They teamed up with Paris outfit Pierrejean Design Studio to create a concept and detailed design for the cabin spaces.
The decadent jet which normally seats around 300 people in commercial use was sold recently to an unnamed buyer from Asia.
