Indonesia pledges to put Batam and Bintan islands on tourist map

Indonesia will focus on developing tourism on islands near Singapore, and also Bali, rather than developing more remote spots in the world’s largest archipelago, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya has said. Frequent daily ferries connect Singapore with the free-trade zone of Batam, and the all-inclusive resort hot spot Bintan, located in Indonesia’s Riau Archipelago. Read more:
