India's Holi festival brings an explosion of colour

Spring has arrived and so has Holi, the Hindu festival that marks the changing of the season with splashes of bright colours.

The “Festival of Colours” is often celebrated by splashing people with water and brightly-coloured pigments, called gulal. Holi is observed mainly in India and Nepal, but there are events and celebrations that take place around the world. Naturally, with its bright colours and their spirited application, more and more travellers have been heading to regions where they can take part in the fun.
