Hungry bears on the move in Southern California
There has been a big increase in bear numbers around the Southern Californian town of Three Rivers, at the entrance to Sequoia National Park.
This has been good news for bear spotters, who’ve snapped photos of the animals by the dozen, but the reason behind the influx isn’t such great news for the bears themselves. Drought in the park has led to diminished food supplies and sent the hungry bears into the town in search of something to eat. Read more: nytimes.com
