Hungary safe for visitors says tourist official
Hungary’s deputy state secretary for tourism Ádám Ruszinkó has given a statement to reassure visitors to Budapest that the capital welcomes foreign visitors and remains a safe travel destination despite the recent escalation of the refugee crisis and worrying reports and images in the media.
He stressed that there has been no tension around Budapest’s main tourist attractions, which are not near the areas affected by the refugee crisis. The Association of Hungarian Travel Agencies has expressed concern that the crisis and reports from Budapest in the foreign media may scare away travellers, as some agencies received a significantly lower number of bookings in recent days.
