This week, photographers around the world captured images from natural phenomena to national celebrations. Here's a selection of the best.

The Northern lights shone bright around much of the Northern Hemisphere this week due to ongoing geomagnetic storms. The lights were visible in many areas where they don't often shine, such as Northern US states.

The Seoul Lantern Festival is on in South Korea and brings together more than 600 beautiful lanterns for viewing along the Cheonggyecheon Stream, a pedestrian walk in downtown Seoul.
