Hoi An to introduce new night festivals for tourists

The head of Vietnam’s ancient town of Hoi An has announced plans to make the current monthly moon celebrations a fortnightly event, introducing a ‘Hoi An Ancient Town’s Night’ festival to be held on each new moon and full moon. The current full moon celebration has been a monthly event in Hoi An since 1998, reportedly tripling the number of tourists to the town compared to non-festival days. Town authorities hope to draw more tourists with the additional festival, and may consider making it a weekly event. Read more: thanhniennews.com
