Hindu dog wedding ceremony attracts 5000 guests in India
A wedding for two pampered pooches in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh has attracted over 5000 wedding guests.
The ceremony in the village of Pawara was carried out with all the trappings of a formal Hindu wedding ceremony, including lavish wedding outfits and a joyous parade through the streets, with music provided by a local DJ. India has a fascinating tradition of animal weddings, and weddings for goats, donkeys and even frogs are carried out in rural communities as an appeal to the gods for rain in times of drought.
