Hijab-wearers denied access to Egyptian resorts

Many Egyptian women have reported being turned away from holiday resorts because they were wearing a hijab.

The unofficial policy of restricting access to veiled women has reportedly been in place for a while at some Red Sea resorts including Sharm el Sheikh and Hurgarda, but has recently started coming into effect at Egypt’s North Coast resorts too.
