Handbag protest over banned anti-Nazi sculpture

People across Sweden have been staging a 'handbag protest' over the decision to axe plans for an anti-Nazi statue in Växjö, southern Sweden. Council officials say the sculpture of a woman lashing out at a Nazi supporter with her handbag encourages violence. Meanwhile, Swedes have been making their discontent at the decision known by hanging handbags over other statues across the country and several other councils have expressed interest in displaying the work by artist Susanna Arwin.
