Haiti drenched by torrential rains, six killed

Torrential rains in the northern and western provinces of Haiti have killed at least six people and led to the cancellation of a number of international flights from the northern airport at Cap-Haïtien. The full extent of damage in areas including Limonade, Cap-Haïtien, Grande-Rivière-du-Nord, Limbé, Petite-Ance and Fort Saint-Michel has yet to be assessed, but it is estimated that more than 2000 houses have been flooded and some have been destroyed.
