Goat sacrifices to the gods kept planes safe, Nepal airline believed

Sacrificing animals to the gods played a role in aircraft maintenance procedures at Nepal Airlines, according to a new report. As recently as 2007, goats were sacrificed on the tarmac to the Hindu deity Akash Bhairab to guarantee that aircraft of the national airline of Nepal would stay safe in the air, alongside more conventional repairs by electricians and engineers.
