French Alps claims seven lives over the weekend

The bodies of six skiers were found by rescue workers on Sunday in the French Alps after they were carried away in an avalanche on Saturday. The group of experienced skiers were trekking in the Queyras mountain range, which straddles France and Italy, when an avalanche was triggered. A British hiker was also found dead on Sunday after she slipped and fell to her death when hiking in the commune of Montriond, north of ski resorts Avoriaz and Morzine.
