A fourth person has died of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome and 41 people have been confirmed with the disease in South Korea. The most recent patient, a 76-year-old man, passed away on Thursday after coming into close contact with the country’s first MERS patient, who travelled back from the Middle East in late May. Around 1300 schools have closed in South Korea and widespread concern over the spread of the disease has caused sales in protective face masks to soar. There has been further concern as a doctor ignored quarantine requests and attended a meeting after showing symptoms. He was later diagnosed with MERS and officials expressed concern that he may have exposed around 1500 people to the disease. Read more:
