Five people die as snowstorms hammer USA

Massive dumps of snow and frigid temperatures hammered much of the US on Tuesday with at least five people dead as a result. Around 50% of the country had snow on the ground on Tuesday with Buffalo, New York, being the worst hit with 6 ft of snow falling so far and more on its way on Wednesday. The storms have caused havoc on the roads with people trapped in vehicles. In Alden, New York, a man was found dead inside his car which was buried under 12 to 15 ft of snow.
