First vertical Eiffel Tower race to be held in 2015

La Verticale de la Tour Eiffel, the first ever vertical race up the Eiffel Tower, will be held on 20 March next year in Paris. Sixty runners will take part in the race up the iconic tower's 1665 steps to a finish line at 279 metres high.However the race is not open to all. Forty of the participants will be elite athletes selected by a committee, while unknown runners will need to preregister and prove their running abilities to make the cut. Registration fee is €10 and the deadline is 31 Dec. Read more:
