Fire under control at London’s Olympic Stadium

The emergency services have been called to a fire in London’s Olympic Stadium. Social media images of the £500 million venue show smoke billowing from its centre. The blaze, which started in a van, has now been brought under control. The stadium, in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park,  was built for the 2012 Olympics and will be the home of football team West Ham from 2016. Read more: standard.co.uk
