Famous Venezuelan ice cream shop closes due to milk shortage

The Coromoto ice cream shop in Merida, Venezuela, has temporarily closed its doors due to a shortage of milk in the country. Coromoto made the Guinness Book of Records for its 863 exotic flavors of ice cream and is popular with tourists. Staples such as milk and toilet paper have been hard to come by in recent years due to the country's economic slowdown, high inflation and strict controls on foreign exchange. Owners of the ice cream shop hope to re-open by mid-January. Read more: bbc.com
